Apple rolled out the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 at the “Surprise and shine” event. The new watches feature sizable improvements to health sensors and tracking, including audio transcription and summaries, and a ceramic case option for the Series 12. Despite these enhancements, the base prices remain unchanged: the Apple Watch Series 12 starts at $399 (aluminum), $699 (titanium), or $899 (ceramic), while the Apple Watch Ultra 4 starts at $799.
The biggest differences between the models are powered by the S11 processor, enabling Apple Intelligence features and more detailed health and fitness programs. The Ultra 4 also offers longer battery life, up to 50 hours on a single charge (compared to 42 hours on the Ultra 3). All watches are slightly heavier: the Series 12 ceramic version weighs 42.8g (42mm) and 52.9g (46mm), while the Ultra 4 weighs 63.1g (up from 61.8g).
The new models retain core features like Siri, Apple Pay, and advanced health tracking (sleep, ECG, fall detection, crash detection). The Ultra 4 includes satellite connectivity for Emergency SOS, while the Series 12 offers a ceramic case option. Battery life improvements and enhanced health features make these upgrades notable, though pricing remains consistent with prior models.
